I have compiled a quick list of the problems that 4gb ipod shuffle lovers are going to face, when you buy a ipod shuffle. Cheers

• You could easily lose this bad boy ipod shuffle, seriously this thing is smaller than a office pin. Don’t believe me check this out

This is small.

1.8″ tall x 0.3″ thin to be exact.

To create the world’s smallest music player, we moved the controls from iPod shuffle to the earbud cord. This allowed us to make the new iPod shuffle dramatically smaller, but not just for dramatically smaller’s sake. It’s also easier to use, with the controls located where you can access them quickly.

See how the controls work

• You have to use apple proprietary headphones to use the damn shuffle which seems to be some what of a recurring trend. Apple has cornered the market with their ipods and iphones but for sure they have killed it with the iphone. Me thinks that the next iphone will have the same headphone brouhaha. If you are an apple developer you will have to bow at their feet and pay heft licensing fees to even be accepted into their program. More money to apple, steve jobs get better you are missed. Its easier when jobs explains this kinda stuff. J
• Trying to scroll through the playslists for the 4gb ipod shuffle is a bitch. Literally, well apparently you can scroll up and down using the controls on your headphones but how before you find this information conveniently located in the apple website – you will have bitten your nails enough times to figure this out.

Multiple playlists.

You’ve probably made multiple playlists in iTunes. One for your commute. One for the gym. One for just chilling out. With the new iPod shuffle, you can sync your playlists and always find the perfect mix for your activity or mood. VoiceOver tells you the name of each playlist, so it’s easy to switch between them and find the one you want without looking.

• The voice playlist sound is okay but it sounds like someone just punched a hole through their throat(sry) and is trying to talk to you. For sure sound is one of the most and will always be hardest things to get to work right. Having automated bots trying to say Kanye West, instead you get something like Kenya wills will surely bring a chuckle to your mouth but heck have some fun while at it. Download some hiphop music and listen to the sounds on there and just laugh your heart out
• Apparently the same dudes that designed the iphone headphones complete with a built in speaker that pauses when a call comes in, they realized that they could take the controls off the shuffle and take it all the way to the headphones. That way you get one of the smallest shuffles around which you can practically hide anwywhere and as far as you have the controls on your hands you should and will be okay. Pretty genius if you ask me but I think the ipod will have to go through 4 versions of this before apple gets it right. There are some pretty smart people working at apple though and cheers for that.

• Apple 4gb ipod shuffle iphones are good for sure but there are no choices right now, whats even more frustating is this the cost of buying those headphones better be under 10 dollars otherwise it doesn’t make any sense buying headphones for 20 bucks – you are better off buying a whole new ipod or saving it in your piggy bank and buying an iphone latter in the future.

All in all trust me if the 4gb ipod shuffle is going to be the measure by which ipod players will be measured – other music developers have no chance whatsoever.

Whats good about the new ipod shuffle.

The  ipod shuffle 4gb is so damn light you wont feel it. Perfect for listening while your boss, nagging wife ornot paying attention to your boring teacher. You wont feel the weight on the ipod while its hanging on your body. If it sucked jogging around with the monster 30gig video ipod then this is going to be heaven for you.

I believe that’s who this ipod is made for. People who don’t want to run around with a heavy monster of an ipod around. Heres the bottom line, you wont find anything else more stylish, cheaper and generally lighter on the market that you can show off to your friends.

You can tell how much battery life you have left using voice command. = thank god.

Cons.

• Without sugar coating anything – there have been reports of weak battery life, having to use special headphones for controls.
  No wonderful screen to show off for your friends.
  Apparently you can buy 4gb ipod shuffle third party earbuds which should create a new third party multimillion market for some budding entrepreneurs. Out there.
• Otherwise, what the hell are you bitching about its an apple created ipod = get one or get an unlocked iphone

You’ll notice how smoothly and easily VoiceOver works. A lot of thought has gone into creating an iPod shuffle that not only talks, but says the right things. It all begins with iTunes and its seamless integration with iPod. iTunes reads your song information, then uses the new VoiceOver Kit to generate the announcements for the songs, artists, and playlists on your iPod shuffle.

You’ll hear different voices depending on what type of computer system you use when you sync your iPod shuffle. If you sync your iPod shuffle with a PC or with a Mac running Mac OS X Tiger, you’ll hear the English voice included in the VoiceOver Kit. And since Mac OS X Leopard already has an amazing English voice built in, that’s the one you’ll hear when you sync your iPod shuffle with a Mac running Leopard.
